Website writing for SEO

Hey Russ, How can you do website writing to satisfy the search engines and get my site ranked higher?

Hmmm………  This is an interesting question?

The short answer is YES but there are conditions attached.

Can we go back for a minute………….. What is the purpose of having a website?

I saw a website that had been written specifically for SEO purposes.

Now the problem with this is that it just didn’t make sense. Well it kind of did but when a person actually started to read they would get confused and loose interest quickly.

The article quickly shot up the search engine listings but when the last Google panda changes took effect, it disappeared overnight.

Why website writing is important

PEOPLE read websites for the information contained on them. When most people carryout website writing, they are focused on getting the right number of keywords into the article and loose sight of the fundamentals of why they’re writing in the first place.

If you remember to provide great information to the reader the search engine ranking will follow, because people will share your content and let others know because it is good.

Golden rules of website writing

The golden rule of website writing is to solve problems of your reader.

  • Research the topic and understand your customers needs
  • Follow basic SEO principles – Keywords in Title, Description and Content
  • Don’t try to include too many keywords – max 3 per article
  • Make it interesting – As John Carlton would instruct, tell a story to get your message accross
  • Know the rules of posting articles if you are posting to someone elses site
